Yorsys started with a simple but powerful decision: to trust myself.

For years, I managed my money the same way many people do—quietly, independently, and meticulously. I lived inside spreadsheets, tracking every transaction and understanding exactly where my money was going. It wasn’t glamorous, but it worked. More importantly, it gave me clarity.

In May 2025, I quit my job. Not on a whim, not out of burnout, but because the numbers told me I could. I had run them carefully and knew I could live off my savings for several months. That decision marked the first time I fully trusted the system I had built for myself.

A few months later, I made another decision—to travel the world. Again, it wasn’t reckless. It was intentional. I understood my finances well enough to know what I could afford, what I was comfortable with, and what tradeoffs I was willing to make.

I didn’t come from a background where financial support was guaranteed. There was no safety net to fall back on. Every decision I made had to be supported by my own planning, discipline, and understanding. That reality shaped how I approached money—not as something abstract, but as a tool for freedom and choice.

Yorsys was born out of that necessity.

I needed a place to store and monitor my transactions in a way that actually made sense for my life. I needed to create custom reports that reflected my priorities, not generic categories or one-size-fits-all advice. I wanted to see my finances clearly, simply, and on my own terms.

And I realized I wasn’t alone.
